Quota Modification

  • How do I set quotas for my accounts ?

If you want to edit the features of your account, you can edit the disk space for each domain with the following link in your WHM - "Quota Modification". You can then edit the data transfer for each domain in your WHM at the link - "Limit Bandwidth Usage".

To edit the number of POP email accounts, MySQL database, FTP accounts, subdomains etc - you will need to contact Support and request that these edits be made.

You cannot make these changes from your WHM account. These changes must be made from the master WHM account for your server.

  • What happens when one of my accounts exceeds its bandwidth limit ?

When one of your accounts exceeds (goes over) the bandwidth (transfer) limit:

    1. The site and all files on it will become inaccessable through a browser.
    2. New mail sent to the account will still get through provided the account has enough space for it.
    3. FTP will still be accessable.

To get the site working again:

Log into WHM. Click the "Limit Bandwidth Usage" link. Select the domain or account username for the account that is over its bandwidth limit. Click the "Limit" button. Raise their bandwidth limit and click "Change".

  • What happens when one of my accounts exceeds its space quota ?

When one of your accounts exceeds (goes over) the amount of space you gave it the following happens:

    1. All pages and files will still be accessable via the web/ftp/email.
    2. Any new mail sent to the account will be bounced.
    3. New files will not be able to be uploaded to the space.

To allow e-mail and uploading again:

    a. Delete some of the files in that account.
    b. Log into WHM. Click the Quota Modification link.
Raise the quota for the account experiencing the problem.
